Opportunity

No matter the situation, opportunity is always present.

The opportunity to rise to a challenge or perhaps not. The opportunity to lead, to be more, to do more are all there, as is the opportunity to do nothing. The choice is yours to pursue the opportunities that present themselves.

Perhaps, Albert Einstein said it best when he told his team

“In the middle of difficulty lies opportunity.”

Much like Sun Tzu, the famous Chinese general and author of the Art of War who told often told his people:

“Victory comes from finding opportunities in problems.”

You may read this short thought and think “It’s easy for you to say, you have no idea what I’m going through right now.” and you’re right, I don’t but that doesn’t mean you can’t look for the opportunities in even the most unimaginable of times.

We all know the mind is a powerful thing. Research has shown that we gravitate and focus more on the negative thoughts as we are programmed to survive and avoid potential danger. This means it can be hard to explore the opportunity that may exist in our present circumstance. However, it’s not impossible.

Sometimes things just seem to fall apart when you least expect them to. You don’t know what to think anymore, maybe things will get better, maybe things will get brighter. Don’t discount that opportunity is there for you to take with both hands and do something.

We can all make the future better than our today.

To take the opportunity is the path to learn and the path to learn often leads to becoming a better human. The choice as always is with each of us.

[…] Good things come to those who work their asses off. So, I stole this line from U2 frontman Bono. It’s important to note that feeling down about this situation is perfectly normal but we all have a choice to stay down on our arse or get back up and do something. No one is going to give anything to you so get out there and make it happen. Even in strange times there is opportunity. […]
